A. Village Background
The village was founded about in 14-15 century as a group of amateur historians has unearthed a small cluster of hero stones in the village as these sculptures belongs to 14-15th century (Ref: Hindu article on 25 May 2022) based on the hairstyle, dress, jewellery and appearance. There is an Upper Primary School, High School and the literacy rate is about 51%. The streets and houses surroundings are neat and clean. Villagers attend colleges in the nearest town Wanaparthy. There is a Health Sub-center. Transport connectivity is through public transport (Buses) and private transport (Autos).
B. Water Purification Center-WPC
The village did not have water purification center (facility) prior to installation of CPW water purification center. GP/Village provided a room to house water purification plant, raw water (Borewell or Pond) and access to electricity. CPW installed the plant and provided training to operator. CPW monitors the plant operations and provides maintenance services to plant for 10 years from the date of installation/commissioning under Install, Operate and Maintenance Agreement (IOMA).

Summer Months (March to June): 1452 Liters/day
Monsoon Months (July to October): 1008 Liters/day
Winter Months (November to February): 956 Liters/day
12 Months Average: 1155 Liters/day
D. Anecdote
Mr. Sri Raghunath Reddy, Sarpanch Prior to Water Purification Center establishment, residents used to drink borewell water and had to suffer with ill health. Some residents were purchasing purified water from supplied from other village and had to spend more money. I came to know with known sources that CDF and approached. CDF was assessed the eligible criteria formalities and established the WPC in the village. WPC is providing quality purified water 24/7 and residents are drinking purified water. Residents are very much happy with WPC and improving their health conditions. Thanks to CDF for water purification center

We had to wait for long time till he come, lost the wages and spent more money. Now WPC is providing purified water 24/7 with ATW system and we are getting water anytime we need it.
