A. Village Background

Village is “Japti Sadagodu”but usually called as “Sadagodu”. Village established about 120 years back and it was under ruling of “Kollapur Samsthan”. Upper Primary School exists in the village literacy is about 60%. Major roads are CC roads and internal roads are under construction. Sanitation is good as the streets and houses surroundings are neat and clean. Villagers goes to nearest town Achampet for higher studies and business purposes. Transport connectivity is through public transport (Buses) and private transport (Autos).

B. Water Purification Center-WPC

GP did not have a water purification center (facility) prior to installation of CPW water purification center. GP/Village provided a room to house water purification plant, raw water (Borewell or Pond) and access to electricity. CPW installed the plant and provided training to operator. CPW monitor the plant operations and provides maintenance services to plant for 10 years from the date of installation/commissioning under Install, Operate and Maintenance Agreement (IOMA).

C. Consumption Of Purified Water in village

Summer Months (March to June): 982 Liters/day

Monsoon Months (July to October): 800 Liters/day

Winter Months (November to February): 626 Liters/day

12 Months Average: 803 Liters/day

Before the establishment of the Water Purification Center, village residents used to drink purified water by getting and supplied from another village. Had struggled to get water from another village and supplying vehicle was coming twice in a week. I came to know with known sources about CDF services and approached. The place/room issue was there and in view of the residents’ problems, I sponsored the place and room. WPC was established, provides quality purified water any point of time at nominal cost. Now residents are getting water whenever they need and feeling happy.

We 5 members are in family were migrated to Hyderabad and used to drink purified water. Due to the Corona effect, we came back to village, but purified water was not available and used to drink borewell water and suffered with illness. Gram Panchayath is an established water purification cetner and provides purified water anytime. We are drinking purified water regularly and living healthily.
